October Newsletter: Compassion and care go a long way!

October Newsletter: Compassion and care go a long way!

October is a wonderful transition into cooler days and breezes, a season replete with change and beauty. This month I would like to place a magnifying glass on compassion and care in our everyday lives. It is absolutely clear that we cannot survive as the human race without these things. Compassion and care are what distinguish us as humans and not animals, yet there is a fast decline in this virtue. This deficiency is prevalent in all communities and, surprisingly, even among people of faith as well. If you do not have compassion and care for your fellow humans, it does not matter what your other strengths are, as you have missed what makes you human.

It is our humanness that distinguishes us and nourishes us as a society. I would encourage you to practice compassion and care wherever you go and with whomever you interact with. It is these small deeds that make a mighty impact on the world around you!

This Month in the Kitchen, we will make Pecan Biscotti in the Recipe section, and with respect to the Health Spotlight, we will focus on Spirulina. Lastly, in our Monthly Why, we will discuss why diet and exercise are so vital to health. As always, I wish that you keep your health and nutrition in center focus and live long and strong!
